Données souveraines Québec strengthens its governance at its first annual general meeting

Montréal, September 22, 2026 – Données souveraines Québec (DSQ) held its first annual general meeting yesterday afternoon, bringing together its members to review the organization’s first months of activity, adopt governance resolutions and appoint its board of directors. The meeting provided an opportunity to present the achievements since the association’s creation, the progress of its strategic roadmap and its interim financial statements. These results reflect the strong engagement of Québec stakeholders around digital sovereignty and data governance. As of September 20, 2026, DSQ had 35 corporate and individual members, 500 followers on LinkedIn and more than 40,000 impressions on its posts. Members adopted significant amendments to the association’s bylaws, including an increase in the number of directors from seven to ten to better reflect the diversity of expertise represented within the organization. All ten candidates were appointed to DSQ’s board of directors. Since its creation, DSQ has been committed to promoting the development of a sovereign, secure and high-performing digital infrastructure for Québec. In the coming months, the organization will continue its work on data governance and digital sovereignty, notably with the public unveiling, on October 13, of its roadmap, developed by some thirty industry specialists. The association also invites its members, partners and stakeholders to attend the 2026 Données souveraines Québec Forum, presented by R2i, which will take place in Montréal on October 14 as part of MTL connecte.
